What we do

This service is for people who have little or no speech; they are assessed by a Speech and Language therapist. When it is established that a communication aid is needed it will be provided by the Communication Aid Service.

The service includes assessing for a communication aid, learning to use it (with on-going support, if required) and the option to join the Users Support Group, who meet fortnightly at Livingstone Drive Clinic. As you can imagine this opens up a whole new world for some people who have previously struggled with their communication.

Call Up Support Group Video

Some situations can be very frustrating for those struggling to express themselves. Liverpool Community Health and The Comedy Trust got together to deliver a course on Speech Therapy and Laughter to enable people to look at the difficulties they may encounter in a supported yet light hearted way, and how these can be overcome.

There was lots of fun and laughter had along the way, please sit back and enjoy the experience.

How to get our help

All our equipment has to be requested by a Speech Therapist.  Service users cannot request direct from us.

If you have any queries or require any further information please contact Karen Kettle direct by phone, fax, post or email as above.
